In keeping with the Festival’s trailblazing multi-city format, Museum of the Moving Image is proud to initiate and host the first New York iteration of Millennium Docs Against Gravity.
The call for submissions to the 18th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival is now open. The 18th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival will take place on May 14-23, 2021 in Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdynia, Katowice, Lublin, Bydgoszcz and Poznan. Additionally there will be an online version of the festival on May 27 - June 13, 2021.
65 000 people in seven Polish cities—Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdynia, Poznań, Katowice, Bydgoszcz, and Lublin—attended documentary screenings and associated events at the Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival. Despite this year’s challenging conditions, rescheduling from May to September, and 50% restrictions on screening room seating capacity, our audience bravely took to cinemas to enjoy the best documentaries from all over the world. And the festival isn’t over yet—its online edition will take place between September 19 and October 4.
On 10 September, at Teatr Studio in Warsaw, the 17th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival awards ceremony took place. But it did not mark the end of the 17th edition of the biggest celebration of documentary cinema in Poland – we still have a weekend filled with exciting films and events to look forward to in Warsaw, Wroclaw, Katowice, Poznan, Bydgoszcz, and Lublin. In Gdynia, the festival ends on 18 September. Online edition (films available on mdag.pl): 19 September - 4 October.
