Meeting: What can we learn from the history of queer revolution?

Following the screenings of ROY COHN/JACK SMITH, dir. Jill Godmilow, SCUM Manifesto, dir. Jill Godmilow, Joanna Krakowska, Magda Mosiewicz.

In Polish

Partner: Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw

The event is organized in cooperation with U.S. Embassy in Poland.

The anarchist, innately anti-totalitarian queer revolution, the subject of Joanna Krakowska’s latest book, involved crossing the boundaries of what was beautiful, what was appropriate, what was acceptable. Its tool was performance—a genre of art as well as a social strategy. After the screening of Roy Cohn/Jack Smith and SCUM Manifesto, both extensively covered in Krakowska’s work on queer revolution, we will ask the author whether art can change reality and whether it can teach us strategies for building an egalitarian society.
