DUNSTAN BRUCE

"I Get Knocked Down" co-director and protagonist.

Born in 1960, the English singer and co-founder of the group Chumbawamba, that became famous for their 1997 hit "Tubthumping (I Get Knocked Down)". Bruce left Chumbawamba in late 2004 after perturbations arising from a rivalry with a band member Boff Whalley, and Chumbawamba eventually broke up in 2012.

Bruce is currently the vocalist of the band Interrobang?!, which he formed in 2012 with, among others, former Chumbawamba drummer Harry Hamer. He also recites lyrics accompanied by music as part of The Existential Angst of Dunstan Bruce project.

He has written soundtracks for films and TV programmes. He also directs music films, for example in 2014 he directed the music documentary 'A Curious Life' about the band The Levellers. In 'I Get Knocked Down' he talks about his experience in Chumbawamba and his subsequent determination to remain politically and creatively active. On the second weekend of MDAG, Dunstan will be performing as a DJ at a party at the festival club Kulturalna. You can expect rhythms from the 70s, 80s and 90s, played from vinyl. Dunstan has already announced that he will donate his fee to help Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
