Trains  

Film description:  

An artistic journey through the 20th century, composed entirely of archival footage. The film contains no dialogue. It presents the beauty and melancholy of traveling by train, where joy mixes with sorrow. The soundtrack features the piece “Compartment 2, Car 7” by Paweł Szymański.

Ernest Cole: Lost and Found  

Film description:  

A documentary about photographer Ernest Cole. In 1966, he fled South Africa and settled in the United States, where he documented life in New York and the American South. He was surprised by how different, yet similar, the country was compared to South Africa. The film portrays the life of one of the first Black independent photographers in South Africa.

One to One: John & Yoko  

Film description:  

A look at 18 months in the lives of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in New York, from 1971 to 1972. The film explores a pivotal time of change using private footage, photographs, music, and FBI-recorded phone conversations. It illustrates how John and Yoko used their fame.

Apocalypse in the Tropics  

Film description:  

Petra Costa, known for "The Edge of Democracy", explores the influence of religious leaders on politics in Brazil. The film shows how the evangelical movement helped Jair Bolsonaro rise to power, documenting the rapid spread of the far right. It serves as a political chronicle highlighting the fragility of democratic states.

Sudden Glimpse to Deeper Things  

Film description:  

Narrated by Tilda Swinton, the film explores the mystery of creativity, taking viewers on a journey through the world of art. Director Mark Cousins examines the life and work of Scottish artist Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, focusing on her distinctive approach to color and abstract painting. It also highlights the challenges she faced in a time when female artists were underrecognized.

Mr Nobody versus Putin  

Film description:  

Pasza is a teacher in a small Russian town, working at the school he once attended. He values curiosity and enthusiasm in his students and frequently films school life as its chronicler. His office becomes a haven for rebellious pupils. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Putin militarizes schools. Pasza continues filming—documenting students' drills, teachers' loyalty oaths, and the fear and uncertainty of the town’s residents.

Architectural accessibility NCKF in EC1

  1. The right entrance door is non-revolving and does not open automatically. The left entrance door opens automatically.

  2. Building entrances are threshold-free.

  3. All cinema halls have designated spaces for wheelchair users. Entrances to the Urania and Luna halls are located on the third floor of the building. The wheelchair-accessible entrance to the Odeon hall is on the second floor.

  4. The building has elevators that provide access to all floors. Elevator buttons are labeled in Braille.

  5. There are accessible toilets on every floor, equipped for people with special needs. The lights in the toilets are motion-activated.

  6. Adult wheelchairs are available at the ticket office. They are free of charge and do not require prior reservation.

  7. There are no designated parking spots for people with disabilities in the EC1 parking lot on Dowborczyków 7, located about 300 meters from the cinema entrance. However, security allows vehicles transporting people with disabilities to enter the EC1 premises and stop near the cinema.

  8. No sign language interpreter is available on demand – an interpreter can be arranged by appointment.

  9. There are no induction loops at the ticket desks.

  10. Distances from public transport: bus stops – 400 m, tram stops – 450 m, railway station – 350 m.
