The XR Exhibition at the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival takes us on a fascinating journey along the borderline between human consciousness and technology. Five exceptional works reveal different ways of expanding our perception.
This year's exhibition showcases a wide spectrum of immersive media and explores various forms of storytelling, where technology becomes a tool in the hands of creators.
The excibition will take place 12-18 May, in National Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw (Kredytowa 1 Street), entry is free of charge. We invite you from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM (May 13-17) and from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on May 18-19. All experiences are in English only.
The curators of the exhibition are Anna Szylar and Karol Piekarczyk.

ECHO VISION, creators: Jiabao Li, Amber Botao Hu, Matt McCorkle, USA, 2024
A mixed reality experience allowing participants to perceive the world like bats through sound visualization. Using bat-shaped HoloKit sets, people navigate by making sounds and watching them bounce back. AI correlates bat calls with behaviors, creating bat lullabies and love songs.
ROAMance, dir. Stanisław Liguziński, Ibrahim Quraishi, The Netherlands, Germany 2024
A VR experience for two strangers who design each other's physical features as they journey through dreamlike landscapes. It prioritizes imagination over image, defying dating apps' superficial logic and highlighting who we are rather than how we appear.
VOICE IN MY HEAD, dir. Kyle McDonald, Lauren Lee McCarthy, USA, 2024
A software-based performance where your inner monologue is replaced with AI that speaks in your own voice. The experience begins with an onboarding session asking how you'd like your inner voice to change, questioning whether anyone truly has their own perspective.
THE TENT, dir. Rory Mitchell, USA, 2024
"The Tent" is an augmented reality project, telling a story about contemporary Los Angeles and presenting the complex relationships between those who have a roof over their heads and the homeless, portraying this subject with humor and empathy. Created using AR technology, this work allows viewers to observe a miniature world from various perspectives – like a film around which we can freely move.
AI & ME, dir. Daniela Nedovescu, Octavian Mot, Romania, USA, 2023 - 2024
An interactive installation exploring how AI perceives us. Featuring "The Confessional" – a machine delivering blunt assessments of participants' appearance, and "AI Ego" creating surreal scenarios for subjects it likes, challenging our willingness to be judged by machines.
AI & Me: Judged by Algorithms
Join us for the opening of the XR exhibition at exclusive meeting with the creators of the interactive XR installation “AI & Me”, which invites deep reflection on the relationship between humans and algorithms.
“AI & Me” is a multi-layered installation that explores the interaction between artificial intelligence and human beings. Creator Daniela Nedovescu invites you to delve into the topic of artificial intelligence, its impact on our self-esteem, and the boundaries of machine intervention in our self-image. The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the process behind this unique XR experience and the challenges of creating interactive installations in the era of AI.
Exhibition opening will take place on 12 May at 5:00 PM.
Prelegent: Daniela Nedovescu. Moderator: Anna Szylar
