“War’s unwomanly face”. Meeting after „Sabaya” screening

In Polish

“Sabaya” is a story of heroic sacrifice borne by women who decide to return to the place of  torture to liberate other female Yazidic hostages still held there by ISIS. The film, created by Kurdish-born Swedish director Hogir Hirori, depicts their struggle. Women can take on the responsibility for others, no matter the hardships suffered in military combat, in the rush to flee the country, or during the never ending nights in a refugee camp. They still fight for the cause, despite being “too exhausted to describe what they have been through”.   We will speak to Anna Alboth, an activist defending migrants’ rights, on how to talk about the life of others, giving them the space to speak out, and how to get their story delivered to others.

Guest :

Anna Alboth – journalist, activist, traveller. Co-organizer of the Civil March for Aleppo, Nominated a few years ago for the Nobel Peace Prize, and this year’s nominee for the Pen of Hope awarded by Amnesty International Polska.
