European Night of Literature. Epilogue. Live reading after the screening of „Body of Truth”

In Polish

The Wrocław edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity will be hosting the epilogue of the European Literature Night—an evening event where the most interesting Polish actresses and actors will be reading excerpts from leading European prose in unusual locations throughout the city—for the fourth time. This year’s edition took place on August 21 with the tagline “On the side of women”. Its final chord will be the reading accompanying the screening of Body of Truth, a film which shows four female artists talking about the body as the subject as well as the tool of their art. The stories of Marina Abramović and Shirin Neshat will be accompanied by a literary passage selected by the curator of this year’s edition, Anna Dziewit-Meller: an excerpt from an essay from Emilie Pine’s collection Notes to Self. Pine’s intimately honest writing openly discusses the issues that women are expected to be silent on.
