Anti war performance by Ewa Rakus followed by a screening of WE WILL NOT FADE AWAY dir. Alisa Kovalenko | screening at 20:00 | Screen Warszawa

In Polish

The performance was created in reference to Charlie Chaplin's film "The Great Dictator". In the final speech, Chaplin breaks the fourth wall and addresses the viewer with a kind of manifesto against the Second World War, by then flaring up in Europe. I, as an artist of partly Russian descent, deliver the same anti-war manifesto in a different guise. Together with the gospel choir (Maciej Świniarski, Magda Kuraś, Natalia Marczuk, Sylwia Lewicka), I will deliver Chaplin's manifesto as a prayer. In this rather simple form, I want to express my opposition to what is happening in Ukraine, Iran and every corner of the world where struggles for freedom are taking place and hundreds of lives are innocently falling victim to someone's goals.
