A journey through the historically vast ocean of contemporary media culture. We learn how the camera obscura was created, watch the first moving image show, observe the invention of the webcam, visit today's Hollywood and get to know a world filled with 45 billion cameras. Witty and thought-provoking, the film traces the development of culture of image as we know it. The camera is a fantastic invention itself, unless it is treated as the driving machine behind a billion-euro visual industry. The film broadens our perspective and understanding of the visual world we currently live in. It closely examines humanity's uncontrollable obsession with the image and the societal consequences that come with it. The film studies the impact of media culture on social behaviour, as well as the effects of being exposed to billions of images competing for our attention every day.
