The Power of Sisterhood

A meeting following the screening of SMOKE SAUNA SISTERHOOD, dir. Anna Hints

partner: Onet Kultura

As one of the definitions of sisterhood, the Merriam-Webster dictionary published in 1828 cites the solidarity of women based on shared conditions, experiences, or concerns, and refers to the strength provided by a female community. In the 1960s American women's movement, sisterhood began to function as a political idea opposing, among other things, the marginalisation of women in the language and culture of patriarchy. Following the screening of one of the most discussed films of this year's Sundance festival, we will talk about the present-day development of female solidarity.
