The Mayor of Gdynia Award
During the award ceremony, the Mayor of Gdynia Award will be presented. The jury will grant the Mayor of Gdynia Award and PLN 15,000 to the best film among those nominated for the Bank Millennium Award in the Main Competition.
JURY:
Filip Ignatowicz – visual artist, painter, filmmaker, art promoter, educator. Graduate of the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, he also holds a degree in Directing from the Gdynia Film School. His short directorial debut “New Bronx” was screened at nearly 50 international film festivals and won 7 awards. His works often examine the condition of individuals functioning in consumer reality. He is the author of the ongoing project “FIGNACY&co” and the online video-performance “artUNBOXING” on the YouTube platform. Multiple scholarship holder and winner of art competitions. He works at the
Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, at the Faculty of Painting.
Michał Miegoń – cultural animator, guide to Pomerania and Gdynia history enthusiast, initiator of countless musical projects embedded in the tradition of the Tri-City Alternative Scene. Head of the Communication and Promotion Department of the Gdynia City Museum, associated with the Halo Kultura Association and the Open House Gdynia festival. Two-time winner of the President of the City of Gdynia “Galion of Gdynia” Artistic Award, winner of the Marshal of Pomerania award for the “Personality of the Year” for his merits in the development of tourism in the region of Pomerania in the year 2023. Curious about the world and thirsty for knowledge, he is a fan of non-fiction books and documentaries, which he absorbs in great quantities.
Ewa Stusińska – writer, pornosopher, doctor of humanities. She is the author of the books “Dzieje grzechu. Dyskurs pornograficzny w polskiej prozie XX wieku” (2018), ”Miła robótka. Świerszczyki, harlekiny i porno z satelity” (2021) and co-founder of the “Nowa Orgia Myśli” magazine. Her latest book, “Deus sex machina. Czy roboty nas pokochają?”, was published in 2024. A long-time Gdynia resident.
