As part of the European Night of Museums celebrations, we invite you to the ORZEŁ arthouse cinema at the Municipal Cultural Centre for a night-time marathon of several of the best short horror films, selected from over a dozen made by Bydgoszcz-based filmmakers (formerly amateurs) over the past 15 years under the guidance of Maciej Cuske. This will also serve as a perfect cinematic epilogue to Maciej Cuske’s documentary 'Candidates of Death', which was completed and premiered as part of the 23rd MDAG programme.
The retrospective will consist of four episodes of the series:
- Candidates of Death II (2010) - A terrifying space monster lands on our planet, not far from Sosnówka. Only a miracle or Sheriff George can save Earth...
- Candidates of Death VIII (2016) - Three daredevils manage to escape captivity. They traverse a devastated world. But nothing is the same as before, and the people they encounter pose the greatest threat to them...
- Candidates of Death XII (2021) - Three friends arrange to meet up in 10 years’ time. If only they could have foreseen the consequences of this idea... yet fate is relentless...
- Candidates of Death XIII (2023) - A mysterious expedition lands on a planet resembling our beloved Earth. Yet something is amiss... where are all its inhabitants?!...
