As part of the Bydgoszcz annex to the 23rd edition of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival, the Municipal Cultural Centre in Bydgoszcz will host a concert by the band 3moonboys – a one-off return after years of silence. A recording of this unique concert will form part of a documentary film currently in production. The event’s title draws direct inspiration from the album “Only Music Can Save Us”, released 20 years ago, and symbolically brings the band’s story to a close.

The documentary film currently in production, directed by Jakub Szymczak, is a story of memory, identity and the city’s musical DNA – captured through the history of one band and the community that helped shape its sound. It is an intimate yet multi-voiced portrait of the Bydgoszcz music scene, blending an archive of emotions with the present day and attempting to answer the question of Bydgoszcz's today's identity as the “City of Music”.

3moonboys are a Bydgoszcz-based alternative rock band, originating from the earlier projects Piąta Strona Świata and Charlie Sleeps, active since 2004.

The concert and film form part of a broader reflection on Bydgoszcz’s musical identity, which, following the city’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Music, serves as a starting point for revisiting and documenting the local scene and its significance for the city’s cultural landscape.

The film is being produced as part of the local project “FILMOWO KREATYWNI/FILMY MUZYCZNE”, implemented through the Kujawy-Pomerania Film Fund, which supports the development of the creative industries and the promotion of the region. The planned premiere of the completed documentary film is autumn 2026.
