Documentary Academy: Art therapy session with educator Agnieszka Orlena Baaske
after the screening of A FOX UNDER A PINK MOON, dir. Mehrdad Oskouei, Soraya Akhalaghi
Recommended age: 16+
An art therapy session during which, in a friendly atmosphere, we will explore what art therapy actually is and what role it can play in our daily lives. We will also take part in a workshop to experience the creative process in practice. Are you more drawn to the unassuming fox or to the magical pink moon? Our session will be inspired by photographs and the film 'A Fox under a Pink Moon', which tells the story of Soraya Akhalaghi – an artist from Iran living in a reality that severely restricts personal and creative freedom. Her perspective adds an extra dimension to our reflection: a story of expression that finds a way even there – or perhaps especially there – where the space for it is narrowing.
Guest:
Agnieszka Orlena Baaske – she lives and works in Gdańsk, where she successfully navigates the intersection of culture and art, education and therapy — areas which she does not so much combine as consciously bring into dialogue with one another. She is a cultural events producer, art therapist, educator and cultural facilitator, as well as a producer, artist and curator. She currently heads the Cultural Events Department at the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, where she is responsible for programmes that place history in dialogue with the present day. She is a co-creator of the educational series Prężne JA, which focuses on issues of war trauma and its inheritance, encompassing the perspectives of the second and third generations. She is also the founder and owner of the PRULLA brand.
