Documentary Academy: Change Is Possible. How Sport Can Save Us

after the screening of EVERYTHING I PLAY FOR, dir. Agata Schultz (→ XX) and MENTOR, dir. Krzysztof Tomaszewski

Recommended age: 14+

‘Everything I Play For’ is a story of young players from Poland’s Homeless National Team, trying to get back up after losing their way. Each walked a different path. Their homelessness didn’t always mean sleeping on the street.

Guests:

Piotr Piasta – co-founder of the One Passion One Love WP Association. A former talented footballer who has overcome the challenges of recovering from addiction and now uses his experiences to help others. He works with young people struggling with addiction at the Monar centre in Piła and is also a football coach. A husband and father whose story shows that change is possible.

Wiktoria Traczykowska – member of the One Passion One Love WP Association, a student of social rehabilitation pedagogy, a football coach with a UEFA C licence, and an active footballer in a team competing in the second division of the grass-pitch league. She helps develop preventive initiatives aimed at young people, using sport as a tool. As a coach, she participates in the ‘Football for Everyone’ project, where she works mainly with young people at risk of social exclusion. She believes that by demonstrating the value of sport and participating in it together, it is possible to build a bridge with young people, creating a space for trust and educational work or companionship in life, regardless of age.
