The Six Billion Dollar Man

The Six Billion Dollar Man
dir. Eugene Jarecki/Germany, USA, United Kingdom/2025/129 min

Relentless in his mission, Julian Assange made enemies at the highest levels. The film shows the information revolution unleashed by the Australian founder of WikiLeaks and details what was done behind the scenes to stop him. In 2010, thanks to a series of high-profile data leaks, we got to know WikiLeaks. The world began to see the scale of abuses committed by the U.S. military and how, over the years, global leaders deceived the public through covert actions. Alongside friends and collaborators – some of whom have hidden motives – the film features former ministers and heads of state. Jarecki’s film continues to resonate as a warning about a universal problem: if you want the truth, you have to fight for it.

The film is being presented as part of the project "Cinema as a Laboratory V," co-financed by the Polish-German Cooperation Foundation.
