Elon Musk Unveiled - The Tesla Experiment
It is 2014. Elon Musk announces an ambitious vision of autonomous driving. Few consumers are aware, however, that Tesla’s autopilot remains unfinished, turning new owners into unwitting test subjects. A deadly crash in Florida sets off years of litigation seeking to hold Tesla responsible – and reveals that the case is far from unique. Archival footage shows Tesla vehicles braking without warning or accelerating abruptly, leading to further collisions. A company employee leaks thousands of internal documents containing customer complaints. The film traces the meteoric rise of Elon Musk’s power and wealth, as well as his political evolution toward supporting Donald Trump – a proponent of deregulation and the prioritization of business interests over public safety. Through moving interviews with victims and their families, alongside conversations with investigative journalists and former Tesla employees, the documentary exposes a system in which an unfinished product is released onto the market, turning public space into a dangerously lethal testing ground.
The film is being presented as part of the project "Cinema as a Laboratory V," co-financed by the Polish-German Cooperation Foundation.
