Meeting with Łukasz Ronduda and Filip Pawlak, the directors of the film ‘Freak Show’

What happens when the so-called “freaks” take over the stage? A group of young artists with disabilities set out to create a different social narrative for themselves. Invited by the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, they prepare a provocative “freak show” for the opening of the museum’s new space. Together, they create their own interpretation of the performance – one that challenges social norms, questions aesthetic standards, and addresses the stigma experienced by people with disabilities. The premiere takes place on Halloween, a night traditionally associated with fear and the confrontation of hidden anxieties.

Moderator:

Andrzej Marzec – a philosopher, film critic, assistant professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the University of Arts in Poznań.
