Yo (Love is a Rebellious Bird)
Following the death of her friend Yo, Anna obsessively recreates her house at a 1:3 scale for a marionette bearing the same name. When they met, Yo was 73 and Anna only 24 - despite the age difference, they formed a deep bond that became the foundation of their relationship. By constructing this miniature space, Anna creates a world where Yo’s stories can continue and their closeness can endure. The film interlaces the intimate reality of Yo’s final year with a creative reinterpretation of her dramatic life. Yo lived on her own terms, challenging expectations around sexuality, motherhood, aging, and death. Blurring the boundaries between memory, time, and imagination, the film reveals the power of artistic creation as a way to process and share grief and love.
