Discussion: Do We Really Need to Travel Across the World to Explore Nature?
after the screening of GHOST ELEPHANTS, dir. Werner Herzog
Partner: WWF Polska
Werner Herzog’s film ‘Ghost Elephants’ tells the story of a fascinating expedition in search of mysterious elephants in Angola, and of humanity’s need to discover the unknown in the natural world. But is it really necessary to travel to the other side of the world to experience this fascination? During the discussion, we will reflect on the origin of our natural need to be close to nature and observe its secrets. We will explore the idea that nature’s mysteries often reveal themselves right on our doorstep – in the woods, by the river, in a park, or even on a city balcony. How can we rediscover the wild nature around us, and why might mindful observation of nature be the start of a deeper connection with it? Join us to discuss our curiosity about the world, our wonder at nature, and how each of us can experience its uniqueness every day.
