„Shifting Baselines” at the Planetarium and discussion with director
after the screening of SHIFTING BASELINES, dir. Julien Elie
Partner: Centrum Nauki Kopernik
Where the Rio Grande meets the sea, dunes attract rare seabirds and the last wild ocelots in the United States. Yet the swamps have been drained, beaches closed, and homes bought out to make way for the new SpaceX launch facility. The film explores the consequences of this “space fever,” raising a fundamental question: do visions of space exploration truly lead to a better future, or are they merely expressions of reckless ambition that could bring humanity to disaster?
We invite you to a special screening of the film “Shifting Baselines” at the Planetarium in the Copernicus Science Centre, followed by a Q&A with the film’s director, Julien Elie.
