Educational meeting: The Alphabet of Protest. On Civic Agency

after the screening of the film EVERYBODY TO KENMURE STREET, dir. Felipe Bustos Sierra

Recommended age: 15 +

On the morning of 13 May 2021, in Pollokshields, Glasgow – one of Scotland’s most diverse communities – the British Home Office raided the home of two long-standing residents. This immediately sparked opposition from neighbors, who organized a mass protest and marched to Kenmure Street to intervene. The film captures this spontaneous act of civic resistance and the spirit of defiance against the establishment. It highlights the power of community solidarity and the effectiveness of peaceful, collective action.

The educational meeting will be led by Anna Dzierzgowska – a history teacher, feminist activist and translator.
