Educational meeting: A Testimony to Life, a Testimony to Disaster. On the Palestinian Spirit of Survival
after the screening of the film PUT YOUR SOUL ON YOUR HAND AND WALK, dir. Sepideh Farsi
Recommended age: 16+
Fatma Hassouna – a 24-year-old Palestinian photojournalist – was killed along with seven members of her family on 15 April 2025 in the Gaza Strip when her home was bombed by the Israelis. The film is a record of a year in her life, captured through video conversations collected by the director using a mobile phone. The film documents the reality of a young Palestinian woman under Israeli occupation: her daily life, her struggle for survival and her unyielding spirit, thanks to which Fatma navigates her reality with extraordinary dignity and hope.
The educational meeting will be led by Dra Dominika Blachnicka-Ciacek – a migration anthropologist, visual sociologist, former human rights observer and Polish coordinator of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel.
