protagonist of the film ‘The Current’
I am a retired British GP who just after finishing my training over 40 years ago, jumped at the offer to look after a film crew & expedition members as they kayaked the Amazon from the source to the sea . I had some experience of expedition medicine. I was the only woman on the trip, but was not phased by this as it was not an unusual situation in the medical world at this time. After the Amazon trip I worked in Bolivia for several years before returning to work as a GP in London and then Bristol. I was single at the time of the expedition but since married with children. I am currently enjoying retirement, family, singing (badly), frequent trips to our house on the North Devon coast with some very basic sea kayaking. I have yet to get to the source of the River Torridge!
