Main Competition for the Grand Prix Bank Millennium Award juror, director of the film 'Apolonia, Apolonia'

Lea Glob, (b.1982) in Djursland, Denmark. In her films you are often among resilient women questioning the ideals and conditions of their time. Motherhood, artistic expression and social and political inequality are recurrent themes. In 2014 Glob co-directed Olmo & The Seagull (Locarno IFF) with director Petra Costa. In 2016 Glob and Mette Carla Albrechtsen co-directed “Venus- Lets talk about sex” an investigation into the thoughts and language on sexuality. All along those years Glob followed the story of Apolonia Sokol, creating a sort of double portrait of the artist as a young woman. Apolonia, Apolonia premiered at IDFA in 2022. After giving birth to a child in 2017, Glob suffered from severe illness and spend years dealing with recovery, which has shaped her understanding of both pain, strength, society, life and film.
