MARIA KRAUSS, documentary film producer, cultural project manager and social activist. Co-founder of the independent production company Plesnar & Krauss FILMS. She has produced original documentary films that have been screened and won awards at national and international festivals, including IDFA, Visions du Réel and Biografilm. Her most recent projects include ‘Faces of Agata’ (dir. Małgorzata Kozera) and ‘8th Day of the Khamsin’ (dir. Zvika Gregory Portnoy), both nominated for the Polish Film Awards (Orły) in the Best Documentary Film category; ‘The Guest’ directed by Zvika Gregory Portnoy and Zuzanna Solakiewicz, co-directed by Michał Bielawski – awarded for Best Cinematography at the IDFA festival. She is currently working on two feature-length documentaries: ‘Modelowe’ directed by Zuzanna Solakiewicz and ‘Artystka i Budowla Możliwa’ directed by Małgorzata Kozera – continuing her collaboration with female directors and supporting women’s stories and narratives in Polish cinema. Member of the Polish Film Academy and the European Film Academy.
