The first emotion-filled premieres, the first meetings, the first party. MDAG kicked off in full swing, and it was a very pleasant start to the festival. One day is already behind us, with nine more to come.
Titles nominated for the Main Competition had their premiere screenings. Following the international premiere of "Bugboy" and the Polish premiere of "A Fox Under a Pink Moon," the audience met with the filmmakers. The Polish premiere of "Whispers in the Woods" was not only a feast for the eyes and ears; the screening was accompanied by a scent composition that heightened the experience and transported viewers into the heart of the wild forest. The WWF Poland Award was presented to Andri Snær Magnason – the Icelandic writer, activist, and protagonist of Sara Dosa's film "Time and Water."
Screenings within THE BEST OF MDAG section have also begun. Ten years after its premiere, we once again saw Michał Marczak's "All These Sleepless Nights." The day concluded with an Opening Party inspired by the atmosphere of that film, taking us back to the vibe of 2016.
During the first educational meeting for schools, following the short films "Everything I Play for" and "Mentor," topics of stereotypes, growing up, and relationships were discussed. As part of the MDAG INDUSTRY section, director Erik Gandini and editor/composer Johan Söderberg held a masterclass on creative editing.
