Meeting: In the background: The Story of Women In Football

Women's football has been a fight for equal rights since the beginning. Although the world is changing, female footballers, referees, coaches, presidents, directors and journalists still have to fight for their rights in one of the last bastions of masculinity in the modern world. It is not only a fight for better wages but also decent working conditions, social security or access to infrastructure. Why is women's football, for many, still only an addition to the "real" men's game, and do girls have equal access to activities traditionally associated with boys? How do we counteract cultural inequalities? The debate around the film Copa 71 will address these and many other questions. Joanna Wiśniowska of “Wysokie Obcasy” will host the meeting. Some of the guests include a sports coach, a football referee and a representative of the Polish Football Association (PZPN).
The meeting will be hosted by Joanna Wiśniowska - journalist, associated with Gazeta Wyborcza and Wysokie Obcasy. She specialises in topics related to women in sports, climate and the environment.

Magdalena Dembinska – co-founder of the Diamonds Academy, created for girls and their passion for football. Magda started her fight for a better future for women's football by organising competitions for amateur women's football teams in Warsaw - She Plays league.
Marta Brudnicka – central-level football and futsal referee, a participant in the 1st UEFA CORE Futsal Course (training for young and upcoming referees from all over Europe).
