Gudrun Sommer is the festival director and owner of fair enough. A graduate in philosophy, she initiated Germany's first documentary film festival for children and young people, doxs!, in 2002 and a few years later she founded the association "Freund*innen der Realität e.V." and the festival DOXS RUHR. Before that, she directed the Duisburg Film Week for two years and worked as a curator for numerous festivals and institutions, including the Diagonale, steirischer herbst, the IFFF Dortmund/Cologne, the Goethe-Institut and the Goldener Spatz Children's Media Festival. Gudrun Sommer was a member of the Berlinale Jury Generation in 2023 and has since been on the board of the European Children's Film Association ECFA. She publishes on the topics of children's film, documentary film and cultural education. With her office fair enough. the certified 'Green Consultant Film & TV' is committed to sustainable and collaborative cultural work. Born in Austria, she lives and works in Bochum.
