Accessibility Warsaw

During the festival, we make every effort to ensure the event is as accessible as possible for all viewers. Any questions or comments regarding accessibility should be directed to the email: julia@againstgravity.pl or the phone number: +48 579754101.

  • If you need assistance, help moving around the cinema, or buying tickets, please inform us of your needs via email: julia@againstgravity.pl or by calling: +48 579 754 101. We will also answer all questions at the festival information points located at the cinema entrances. Both volunteers and cinema coordinators have completed training on the needs of Persons with Disabilities.
     
  • Companions of persons with disabilities are granted free admission to all events. Free admission tickets can be collected at the cinema box offices after prior contact via email julia@againstgravity.pl or by phone at +48 579 754 101.
     
  • Noise-canceling headphones will be available at the festival center in each of the Warsaw cinemas.

Viktor  

Film description: Viktor  

Viktor lives in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He lost his hearing when he was 5 years old. Due to his disability, he has difficulty finding a job. When the war begins, Viktor wants to defend his country. The film shows the war in Ukraine from Viktor’s point of view. The director is a well-known war photographer and cinematographer who has received the Emmy® Award twice. The sound for the film was created by Nicolas Becker, Oscar® winner for the film "Sound of Metal." Directed by Olivier Sarbil, the 2024 film has a runtime of 91 minutes, and is produced in Denmark, France, Ukraine, and the USA.

Trains  

Film description: Trains  

The film is an artistic journey through the 20th century. It consists entirely of archival footage. There is no dialogue. It portrays the beauty and sadness of traveling by train. Joy is mixed with pain. In the background, you can hear the piece “Compartment 2, car 7” by Paweł Szymański. Directed by Maciej Drygas, the 2025 film has a runtime of 80 minutes and was produced in Poland and Lithuania.

Ernest Cole: Lost and Found  

Film description: Ernest Cole: Lost and Found  

A film about the photographer Ernest Cole. In 1966, Ernest Cole escaped from South Africa. He settled in the United States, where he photographed New York and the southern states. He was surprised at how different and yet similar to South Africa the country was. The film shows the life of Cole, one of the first independent Black photographers in South Africa. Directed by Raoul Peck, the 2024 film runs for 105 minutes and was produced in the USA and France.

The film tells the story of 18 months in the lives of John Lennon and Yoko Ono in New York between 1971 and 1972. It depicts a period of major change in their lives. The film uses private footage, photographs, and music from the artists and their friends. These materials are combined with recordings of the couple’s phone conversations, taped by the FBI. It shows how John and Yoko used their fame. Directed by Kevin Macdonald and Sam Rice-Edwards, the 2024 film has a runtime of 100 minutes and was produced in the UK.

The film documents the rapid rise of the far right in Brazil. It’s an important political chronicle that reveals how fragile a democratic state can be. Directed by Petra Costa, the 2024 film runs for 110 minutes and was produced in Brazil, the USA, and Denmark.

Narrated by Tilda Swinton, the film explores the mystery of creativity. It takes viewers on a journey through the world of art. Director Mark Cousins examines the life and work of Scottish artist Wilhelmina Barns-Graham. He presents her unique approach to color and abstract painting. The film highlights the difficulties she faced at a time when women were not appreciated in art. Directed by Mark Cousins, the 2024 film runs for 88 minutes and was produced in the UK.

Pasha is a teacher in a small town in Russia. He works at the school he once attended. He values his students’ curiosity and enthusiasm. He often films them as a school chronicler. His office is a meeting place for rebellious students. After Russia’s attack on Ukraine, Putin militarizes the schools. Pasha keeps filming: student military exercises, teachers’ loyalty declarations, and the fear and uncertainty of the town’s residents. Directed by David Borenstein and Pasha Talankin, the 2025 film runs for 90 minutes and was produced in Denmark and the Czech Republic.

Kino Atlantic  

The entrance to the cinema and two screening rooms (A and B) is accessible for people with limited mobility  
each room has one wheelchair space and a row without steps  
an accessible restroom is located on the ground floor  
assistance dogs are welcome  
there are parking spaces for persons with disabilities in front of the cinema

Kino Luna  

The cinema does not declare full architectural accessibility  
steep stairs lead to the foyer and screening rooms (A and B)  
at the box office and café, you can borrow a portable/neck induction loop which works in the screening room  
three steps lead from the foyer to the toilets  
the entrance door is narrow, and the toilet is quite cramped  
there is one parking space for persons with disabilities in front of the cinema (100 meters from the entrance)

Kinoteka PKiN  

You can access the main hall using an external elevator located to the right of the cinema entrance  the cinema has implemented a temporary solution – a stairclimber – to allow persons with disabilities to access the four rooms on the lower floor  to reach the second floor, use the main entrance of the Palace of Culture and Science, where an elevator leads to the fourth floor  a platform connects the Starzyński Room to the Gagarin Room to access Room 7, a few steps must be overcome with a stairclimber the entire process should take no more than 30 minutes for questions, please contact us at 531 571 040 – we’re happy to help  assistance dogs are welcome  there are parking spaces for persons with disabilities in front of the cinema

The cinema is located at level -1 and accessible via an elevator in the cinema tower located on the side of Plac Centralny

the screening room has a tiered layout, and the stairs are not equipped with handrails
