Q&A and wine tasting: Lower Silesia winemaking of the future
after the screening of THE HILLS OF WRATH, dir. Léo Boudet
After the screening of The Hills of Wrath, we will meet winemakers from various parts of Lower Silesia: from the Sudeten Foothills, through the Trzebnickie Hills, to the Land of Extinct Volcanoes. These geographical names are not accidental: as we will see during the screening, the terrain is of key importance when it comes to wine. Wine journalist Patrycja Nawrocka will ask our panelists about terroir, the frosts that decimated Polish vineyards last year, the “Polish Tuscany” and plans to conquer the world with sparkling wines. This shapes up to be a discussion about wine, but also passion, determination and love for the land.
A meeting about wine would be incomplete without the chance to sample it, so after the discussion, we would like to invite you to a tasting prepared by three vineyards and wineries: Silesian, Moderna, and Kindler.
Panelists:
Maria Mazurek | Silesian vineyard – located in the heart of Lower Silesia in the Sudeten foothills, run by three generations of the Mazurek family.
Nestor Kościański | Moderna vineyard – located in the Trzebnickie Hills, it combines traditional viticulture with modernity, as evidenced by the labels inspired by Wrocław’s modernist architecture.
Kamil Kindler | Kindler vineyard – a family winery located on basalt soil in the Land of Extinct Volcanoes of the Kaczawskie Foothills.
