The event accompanying the film “Move Ya Body: The Birth of House”. It will be a true journey through the history of house music, from its underground beginnings on the South Side of Chicago to its rise as a global phenomenon. At Kulturalna and barStudio, we will come together to celebrate the evolution of this genre, which was born out of a need for freedom, joy, and creativity.
Cougar – DJ and producer based in Warsaw, Poland. In her sets she combines disco, house, UK garage and electro with inspirations from 90s and 00s. Her style involves energetic synthesizers, catchy melodies and ecstatic vintage vocals. She’s a radio host of “Groovoterapia” program in Radio Kampus and co-founder of San Junipero Girls Crew collective, the organizer of queer electronic parties in Warsaw between years 2019 and 2022. This year’s lineup of SnowFest, Las Festival, Audioriver and Wisłoujście. Creator of old polish disco songs edits and remixes of young alternative musicians. In may she debuted in Pets Recordings with her first solo single “Heatwave”, part of a compilation of polish LGBTQ artists.
Holiday 80 – a Warsaw-based duo, associated with the label The Very Polish Cut Outs. It consists of DJ Bert, also known as Norbert Borzym, a journalist known from the “Czw.rka” radio station, and Grzegorz Lipiński (DJ and producer, also responsible for the visual side of the project). They know almost everything about disco… but they also know where italo blends with Bollywood, and acid house with… everything in between.
NuCasa – a DJ and producer hailing from Warsaw, Poland, has become a prominent figure in the Polish electronic music scene. Michał grew up immersed in hip-hop culture, a foundation that still echoes in his groove-driven sets today. As the resident and co-creator of the legendary Splot Słoneczny Sunday events, he is a central figure in Poland's vibrant club scene.
