Flaming Ears (Ursula Pürrer, Dietmar Schipek, Ashley Hans Scheirl) is a surreal, lesbian fairy tale that draws from comic book traditions and science fiction cinema to depict an almost-human story of love and revenge. Sex Party (1987) by Angelika Levi presents a sex party organized in Amsterdam with Dutch friends from the punk and squatter scene, while Freunde (Friends) explores time spent on the rooftop of a Berlin building in 1994.

What was and is the significance of (self-)representation of queer identities and communities on screen? How can they be interpreted as performances of queer futures?

The discussion will feature filmmaker Angelika Levi and representatives of Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art E.V, a partner of the event.
