The film traces the author’s of ‘Trainspotting’ life from his childhood in Leith through fame and travels, including hallucinogenic adventures in Canada. He enjoys himself both in Los Angeles and at international literary festivals. Welsh rarely speaks about the craft of writing; instead, the film highlights his enthusiasm for music and sport, which he regards as equally important as literature. In this intimate portrait, we meet a celebrated writer at a crossroads, fully aware of the passage of time, accepting that his hedonistic days are ending, yet still committed to discovering new creative avenues.
