Over a dozen years ago, Maciej took his son and two of his young friends on vacation, during which they filmed an amateur horror movie together. Little did he know then that it would turn into one of the greatest adventures of his life, lasting over a decade. Between the fun of making films, evening campfires and nights in tents, they talk about life, their loves, disappointments, failures and successes, wondering whether their friendship will last until the end of the world. Today, the boys are almost 30. They have changed a great deal, and each of them is seeking his own path. 'Candidates of Death' is a film about the power of great friendship, growing up, the changes we go through, our fears, dreams, and plans, set against the backdrop of a grand cinematic adventure spanning decades.

Jerzy Rados – director, photographer and film producer. Creator of documentaries, music videos and television programmes, as well as group portraits of city dwellers and social groups. Producer of multi-award-winning feature and documentary films. Winner of the Gdynia Galion Award for the film ‘Gdynia. Moje miasto’. Initiator and organiser of the Pomeranian Film Workshops, co-founder and deputy director of the Gdynia Film School, and director of the Gdynia Film Centre.
