Workshop: How to strengthen your resistance to disinformation?
before the screening of THE LIBRARIANS, dir. Kim A. Snyder
Partner: Gdynia Library
Gdynia Library invites adults to a workshop aimed at developing skills to effectively distinguish truth from falsehood in the age of AI and to build resilience against disinformation. Participants will learn about the mechanisms by which disinformation spreads, the psychological factors that make people susceptible to it, and practical methods for verifying information, including the analysis of visual content.
‘The Librarians’ is a powerful portrait of contemporary America, evoking the dystopia of “Fahrenheit 451”. The film follows the story of librarians from small towns across the United States who unexpectedly become some of the most important defenders of democracy today. Targeted, intimidated, and pressured, they risk their jobs and personal safety to defend freedom of speech, access to knowledge, and pluralism of thought.
Host:
Dra Magdalena Iwanowska – psychologist and media educator, specialising in the impact of social media and countering manipulation.
Workshop for ticket holders for the film “The Librarians”.
