Cesare Through the Time
The film tells an emotional story set along the Tiber since 1999, following two families of eel fishermen who have lived for generations along the river in southern Rome. On one side are Cesare and Alfredo, known as “Rosci,” brothers deeply rooted in the river’s ancient traditions and unwritten rules. On the other side are their rivals, Nando and Franco “Ciccioni,” living with their elderly mother, Sor Irene, the moral and emotional pillar of the family. The balance established over years, built on rivalry and mutual understanding, is disrupted by the arrival of a young migrant from Bangladesh, Anwar. His presence opens the previously closed river community to new cultures and experiences, reshaping relationships and altering the course of their lives.
