Jamila, Rachel and Faseeha, the protagonists of Sisterqueens (dir. Clara Stella Hüneke, Germany), are between 9 and 12 years old. They live in Berlin and are taking their first steps in the local hip-hop culture. We gain an insight into their family lives, recordings and stage performances. We will see how they turn hurtful perceptions about girls, racist encounters and exclusion into rhymes. Sisterqueens is a film about the power of friendship and supporting each other to achieve one’s aspirations. Panelists will talk about the nature of stereotypes, their role in our lives, and how awareness of their mechanism can help foster mutual understanding in a peer group and forge relationships in adulthood.

Panelists:

Michał Tęcza – educator, anti-discrimination coach
Michał Sawicki – psychologist, psychotherapist
