Acclaimed and award-winning Swedish investigative journalist My Vingren’s research on extremism and hate groups takes her to the very dangerous areas of the Internet. She exposes the nature of the efforts of extremist movements who use social media to recruit new members and radicalize society. The ambitious, far reaching investigation ultimately leads to an American researcher, writer and lawyer Anika Collier Navarola, who became the X platform whistleblower, as well as Imran Ahmed, an activist sued by Elon Musk for exposing the rise of documented hate speech on X. Can tech companies be held accountable for promoting hate speech and inciting violence? The guest speaker will talk to young people about how to be cautious in the world of the Internet and not succumb to manipulation.
