Eye Yoga Workshop. Introduction to visual awareness
Partner: Fotofestiwal
Can we fully trust our own eyesight? Do we have influence over how we perceive movement? Is it possible to stimulate our eyesight to see better in the dark, and how can this affect our creativity? The workshop on conscious vision, co-organized with the Fotofestiwal in Lodz, combines practical vision training with theoretical classes. Participants who take the eye yoga class will gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of the human visual apparatus in order to develop perceptual awareness and creative sensitivity, as well as learn about some interesting examples from art history and artists who tried to fool the sense of sight. The workshop will inspire the use of this knowhow in creative work and to explore new possibilities of sight in the context of contemporary imaging technologies.
This event is aimed at people working with photography, but also with images or conscious vision in general.
The workshop is free of charge, the number of places is limited. Registration starts on April 24 at barbara@againstgravity.pl.
Moderators:
Basia Budniak – visual artist, facilitator and photographic activist. A graduate of the Film School in Lodz, she runs her own art workshops in the medium of photography.
Virginia Cristin – visual awareness educator, trains using the Bates method.
