Born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Simon graduated as a Documentary Film Director from The National Film School of Denmark in 2009. His first feature documentary film The Distant Barking of Dogs premiered at IDFA (2017), and was awarded Best First Appearance. It has since then won 35+ International film awards worldwide - among them a Peabody Award. It was nominated for both a European Film Award and an Emmy, and shortlisted for an Oscar (2019). Simon's latest feature documentary “A House Made Of Splinters” has also won numerous international film awards, among them Best Director at Sundance Film Festival (2022). The film was also nominated for both a European Film Award and an Oscar."
